IMCA Supernationals Champion Ethan Dotson To Race at West Coast Nationals

International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) 37th Annual Supernationals Champion Ethan Dotson of Bakersfield will be competing in the $7500 to win, $500 to start West Coast Nationals at Antioch Speedway on October 17, 18, and 19. Dotson is fresh off of a win in the biggest race of the season for IMCA Modified division race cars.

Dotson is the only Californian to win the prestigious event that drew drivers from 26 states, Canada and Australia to Boone, Iowa. Now, he will focus on the 3/8-mile high banked Antioch oval’s unprecedented high-paying, three-day event.

“I’ve only been to Antioch Speedway a couple of times. With that big of a purse, everyone in the West will be there. The competition is what makes a race fun, challenging, and exciting.” Dotson says. “I want to win at as many tracks as I can – racing against the best drivers there are – it’s great for for any driver’s resume to do well at these big races.”

The race is a first for new promoter Chad Chadwick’s PROMotions. Chadwick owns PROMotorsports of Oakley and has been in the motorsports industry for decades.

“Antioch Speedway is my home track – its right down the street,” Chadwick says. “I want to see the speedway get the notoriety it deserves as the Bay Area’s only dirt oval.”

Chadwick has contracted Speedshift TV to broadcast the event worldwide. Drivers in the Modified and Sportmod divisions will race in a series of qualifying races beginning on Friday and up until the fields of the two main events are set for Saturday night. The Sportmod feature will pay $1500 to win, and $150 to start.

A Thursday night barbecue and an on-track test and tune session will prepare drivers for the event. There will be 24-hour security for drivers and crews wishing to camp in the pit area on Thursday and Friday nights.

Grandstand gates will open Friday and Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m., with racing beginning promptly at 6 p.m.
